Reggie Jackson makes crazy, acrobatic scoop shot (Video)
During the Detroit Pistons’ trip to Chicago to take on the Bulls, Reggie Jackson made a crazy shot before the quarter ended.
Reggie Jackson really knows how to deflate a defense. As the Pistons squared off against the Bulls on Friday night, he did just that. After a great defensive possession from the Bulls, Jackson found himself in panic mode as the shot clock was ticking away.
But as Joakim Noah met him at the free throw line and Jackson picked up his dribble, all he could do to get a shot off was throw up a scoop shot that looked something like a softball toss. Surprisingly, he found that it landed at the bottom of the net.
The shot was not only spectacular, but it also fueled a comeback for the Pistons. The Bulls were absolutely pestering the Pistons guards all game, shrinking any chances they had at getting into the lane during the game. This led to a Bulls ten point lead and a ton of momentum in the middle of the third quarter. But after Jackson’s circus shot, the Pistons were able to tie the game before the fourth quarter making this an extremely tight game.
This game in particular will be of utmost importance for both teams. The Bulls are looking to jump the Raptors and Cavs to notch that no. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. This will be huge for Chicago, because that would mean the Bulls wouldn’t have to play the Eastern Conference leaders, the Atlanta Hawks, until the conference finals.
Detroit, despite being just 29-41, is looking to sneak into the playoffs as the no. 8 seed. The chances are low, but if Reggie Jackson keeps making ridiculous shots such as this one, I wouldn’t put it past the Pistons to snag that final spot in the playoffs.
