BYU long snapper gets a terrible tattoo (Photo)

BYU long snapper Matt Foley got inked up and the results are just absolutely hideous.

Someone should tell incoming BYU freshman Matt Foley that tattoos are permanent. I don’t think he knew this when he got his latest tattoo. Foley got the tattoo to celbrate making the BYU football team roster as a long snapper.

However, it seems more of a tribute to bad decision making. A photo of the completed tattoo was posted to his twitter account.

Pretty bad, right? The long snapper looks like a mix of Hank Hill, Brian Urlacher, and a pre-school connect the dots assignment. The text in the tattoo looks like it belongs on the album cover of an old country album that no one wants to buy. The colors also already look faded even though its a new tattoo.

Foley is fresh out of high school so he can always look back on this misguided decision and chalk it up to youth. He will hopefully seek out a more talented tattoo artist for a cover up or maybe a medical professional for complete tatto removal. It is understandable tht he would be excited to join the BYU program but it is unfortunate to see his excitement manifest itself in such an embarrasing way.

Many people who recieve bad tattoos attempt to justify their actions by claiming it is a personally meaningful piece of art and they only got it for themselves. With this tatoo however, no matter how Foley will try to frame it, at the end of the day it is just a bad tattoo.

I once told a friend of mine about a tattoo I wanted to get. I won’t go into the details of the tattoo but my friend told me to wait three months, and if at the end of those three months I still liked the tattoo then I should get it. By the end of the three months I realized the tattoo no longer appealed to me. My friend’s advice saved me from permanent regret.

I wish a friend of Foley would have given him the same advice. Maybe then three months would have passed and he would have realized he did not want a tattoo done by his blind friend in the back of a van driven by a speed demon who loves hitting potholes. Looks like it’s time to look for some new friends.
