CM Punk, of course, had a little something to say on Friday with the news that his wife is done with wrestling as well
On Friday we were all hit with the somewhat shocking news that AJ Lee had decided to retire from in-ring WWE competition. It was shocking considering that she had just competed on the WrestleMania card and RAW the next night, but it wasn’t shocking in the sense that her husband is CM Punk, the man that unceremoniously walked out of the company over a year ago.

For the most part, though, it was something that we all saw coming at some point this year, as you would suspect that AJ would maybe want to be around to spend more time with Punk, especially since he’s getting set to enter the world of MMA when he presumably makes his UFC debut later this year some time.
You’d certainly suspect that Punk is quite happy that his wife will be around a little more now, and he of course did have something to say after the news broke.
However, he didn’t make any snarky or snide remark, rather he simply just echoed the sentiment of the other wrestling fans at the time of the announcement when he thanked his wife for the years that she has spent entertaining all of us in the ring.

Despite walking away and not exactly having the best relationship at the moment with WWE, he still did watch the product whenever his wife was on television, and has even admitted as such. He was very supportive of what his wife did in the ring week in and week out.
But, in the end, he’s probably just happy that his wife is off the road for good now and they can spend a little more time together as he prepares to hit the octagon.
