While CBS Sports reporter Allie LaForce was on air in Indianapolis Saturday, she was proposed to by a Michigan State fan.
Michigan State‘s amazing run to the Final Four this NCAA Tournament has all of it’s fans extremely excited and confident, but some fans seem to be a little bit too excited and too confident.
Lead sideline reporter on CBS’ telecast, “SEC Game of the Week” and co-host of CBS Sports Network’s nightly hour-long show, Allie LaForce was giving a report from a Final Four tailgating location in Indianapolis Saturday when one Michigan State fan stepped forward to tap LaForce on the shoulder and get down on one knee and act like he was proposing to her, creating an instant fan classic.
Here’s a Vine of the proposal via UPROXX and you can see the full video here via Deadspin.

LaForce was interrupted while talking about the Kentucky Wildcats when this fan ever so bravely got down on a knee and acted like he was sliding a ring onto LaForce’s finger which already has a ring, given to her by her husband (yes, she’s already married) Joe Smith, a relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians who she likely met during her time as a sports anchor and reporter in Cleveland before moving up to CBS Sports.
You can’t really blame the guy, LaForce is of course a beautiful woman and he’s clearly feeling over excited because his Michigan State Spartans have made it to the Final Four after an exceptional run in the NCAA Tournament. The 7-seeded Spartans made it out of the East Region after defeating 10-seed Georgia, 2-seed Virginia, 3-seed Oklahoma and finally 4-seed Louisville in the Elite Eight to lock up Tom Izzo and Michigan State’s fifth Final Four berth since 2000.
The Final Four begins Saturday when Michigan State takes on 1-seed Duke followed by a overall 1-seed and undefeated Kentucky Wildcats versus 1-seed Wisconsin Badgers. Hopefully there won’t be anymore awkward surprise proposals on live TV at least until the game starts.
