When CM Punk was an integral member of the WWE roster still, his microphone skills were what made him stand out to people the most at times. Some even said that Punk had the best natural mic skills in the ring since “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the man who some consider to be the best of all time with the stick in his hands.

As we know, Punk has not only left WWE, which he did back in January of 2014, but he has also been getting set to enter the world of MMA with the UFC. Recently, Piper had the chance to sit down with MMAJunkie.com, and he had nothing but nice things to say about CM Punk and this new venture that he’s involved with.

"“I didn’t know that he was proficient in martial arts before that. Then I saw him with one of the Gracies –he did a video. You know what? I give him all the respect in the world. I love the guy and he’s got the courage to leave someplace where you have millions of dollars and to go on and try something else. That’s what a man’s made out of. How he’ll do there? You know, we’ll all watch. He’s a smart kid and I think he’ll do great.”"

As you’ll remember, one of the reasons that Punk grew so frustrated with WWE was the fact that he never got a break. To that point, Piper during his career was someone who constantly took breaks and came back fresh not only to the crowds, but health-wise as well. He’s always been someone that’s respected Punk and his work, which is why it’s no surprise that he’s so supportive right now.
