The National Championship Odds are out, and it appears that the Wisconsin Badgers are the new favorites to win it all.

After their stunning win over the top overall seeded Kentucky Wildcats, the oddsmakers have given the Wisconsin Badgers the edge in the national championship game over fellow No. 1 seeded Duke.

The Blue Devils also won in Saturday, something people have already forgotten in the madness of Wisconsin’s win over Kentucky. From the streak the Wildcats had going being over to what Andrew Harrison said afterwords, Duke is being washed over in more way than one.

While the Badgers beat Kentucky on Saturday night, it was Duke who crushed their Final Four opponent in Michigan State. Had the Spartans pulled out the win, we would have had a rematch of the Big Ten title game in the National Championship — but we have been gifted with a far better matchup.

It’s two legendary coaches going up against one another in Bo Ryan and Mike Krzyzewski and it’s looking like we’re going to get a classic showdown. If you’re looking to put money on the game though, it appears that Wisconsin is opening as early favorites to finish off their magical season and win the national championship.

Of course, Duke can never be counted out and the fact that they’re still standing is a testament to Mike Krzyzewski and the institution he has at Duke. The last time the Blue Devils won the title game was five years ago, which seems like a lifetime ago for Duke fans.

But it’s been even longer for Wisconsin, and the momentum they have going and the magical team they have seems to be the perfect lightning in the bottle type story that creates champions in March Madness.

Odds can only tell us so much though, as Kentucky was favored to win the whole tournament and they aren’t one of the two teams left standing. That tells you how crazy things can get and we won’t know who the true champion is until we see who is cutting down the nets at the end of the game.
