Russell Westbrook might not ultimately take home the NBA’s regular season MVP award this season, but he’s the real MVP off the court.
The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard recently gave a brand new Kia, his prize for winning the 2015 NBA All-Star Game MVP, to a single mom.
What an outstanding gesture from Westbrook. That’s a totally selfless and kind act, so kudos to him.
As for his work on the court, there’s still much to be done for Westbrook. The Thunder sit just .5 game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, with Oklahoma City having five games to play and New Orleans having six games to go.
With the way Westbrook’s played this season, the Thunder would certainly be a scary team to face in the playoffs if they are able to make it.
Westbrook has averaged 27.7 points, 8.7 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game this season.
