Rose just missed another 20 games due to a torn meniscus, but he is finally back. There was a lot of fear surrounding the injury when it first happened that it would keep Rose out for the rest of the year like his past knee injuries have. Fortunately, the team believed this was something that Rose could come back from in 6-8 weeks, and it looks like that was the truth after all.
He was on a minute restriction tonight (only supposed to play about 20 minutes), but he had some moments of optimism where he looking like his former self.
As the broadcaster was saying, this was a very encouraging play from Rose. He showed that he still has the ability to turn up his speed on the drop of a dime, and he had no hesitation at all while attacking the rim. And of course, Rose can still finish at the rim as well as anyone.
It’s a good thing that Rose came back now and not after the regular season. Counting tonight’s game, the Chicago Bulls have five games remaining before postseason play. This should give Rose some time to get into a groove before they start playing some top teams in the playoffs.
