Heading into the 2015 NFL Draft, Ex-Michigan DE Frank Clark has received some good news in his assault and domestic violence case.

With the 2015 NFL Draft looming, former Michigan Wolverines defensive end Frank Clark didn’t know what his future would hold. After a successful career at Michigan, most people only remember him for his domestic violence and assault charges that were bestowed upon his during a visit to a Sandusky, Ohio, waterpark on Nov. 15, 2014.
Clark was seen by witnesses striking his girlfriend and when police arrived to the scene, he didn’t seem very apologetic toward the situation. The collegiate athlete also had marks on his face and his girlfriend didn’t have any. He proclaimed to the officers at the scene that he didn’t touch her that way and would never do that because “she is a woman.”
As a defensive end for Michigan, Clark recorded 120 career tackles in four years to go along with 11 sacks for 91 yards. Clark added a forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, six pass deflections at the line of scrimmage and an interception he returned for just seven yards.
During his senior campaign, Clark posted a tackle for loss in nine of 10 games that he appeared in, finishing the season ranked second in the Big Ten in tackles for loss (13.5).
On Friday afternoon, Clark received some great news regarding his domestic violence and assault charges that can do nothing but help his NFL Draft stock. This may help clear his name, but there will always be those non-believers that will never give Clark credit because he was charged in the first place.
While it’s still unclear what happened that November day in Ohio, cases like this should never be considered “light.” It’s great for Clark that the charges were dropped, but let’s just hope that nothing transpired that afternoon that would cause people to say Clark is “lucky” that the charges were dropped.
According to NFL.com, many GMs believe that Clark’s talent and potential on the defensive side of the ball won’t let him slip past the fourth round. After this news, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 6-foot-3, 271-pound behemoth was chosen in the first three rounds.
Now that his name has been cleared, it’s time for the surprisingly-versatile defensive end to make a name for himself at the next level. Any team looking to add depth in the middle rounds on the defensive side of the ball would be silly to pass Clark up.
