Masters 2015: J.B. Holmes with the amazing chip in second round (Video)
By Will Osgood
J.B. Holmes had one of the most amazing shots of Friday’s second round at Augusta.
J.B. Holmes won’t be around at Augusta over the weekend to watch Jordan Spieth take a shot at the the record for the low score at The Masters. Scratch that, he may be, he just won’t be playing. He missed the cut by one shot, finishing +3 over the first two days of the major.
Whether he stays to watch the action or leaves to get some rest over the weekend, at least he’ll have this amazing pitch on the famous 18th hole to recall to memory.
Holmes, who had brain surgery in 2011 and went through quite an ordeal just to get back to playing golf, has never made the cut at Augusta. Unfortunately, he came up just one shot off the cut-line (+2), as a result of the top-50 and ties cut-line being put in place.
But Holmes did make a memory, one he’ll likely never forget, at Augusta this week.

Chipping from the stands where patrons had to move so he could hit the ball, Holmes flew his golf ball toward the opposite bunker, but hit it perfectly so that it made a u-turn and returned in his direction toward the hole.
He got a bit lucky that the ball actually went in the hole. Nonetheless, it was an amazing shot, one he’ll likely not forget soon–a birdie on 18 at The Masters.
It was a moment unlike any other for Holmes.
