Some NBA players got involved in a nasty situation at a New York nightclub the other night, and details of what really happened are starting to come out.

Wednesday was not a good day for Atlanta Hawks guard Thabo Sefolosha.

More from Atlanta Hawks

Sefolosha was at a New York nightclub with teammate Pero Antic and Indiana Pacers small forward Chris Copeland when everything turned into a disaster. The two Hawks were arrested for obstructing government administration when they reportedly tried stopping the police from setting up a crime scene. However, things got much worse for Sefolosha who was also arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct – and he also broke his ankle in the process.

The video of that altercation finally surfaced the internet.

The initial reports were already bad enough, but the video really pushes things over the edge. Sefolosha may have been doing some wrong things, but it’s hard to believe that he needed that many cops being that rough on him.

Antic will return to the court, but Sefolosha won’t play again this year after suffering a broken ankle in the incident. The Hawks are great because they are so good at being a strong unit, and Sefolosha was an important player for them off the bench. Sefolosha was averaging 5.3 points (42 percent shooting) and 4.3 rebounds in just over 18 minutes per game this year.

Copeland arguably had the biggest scare from this incident as he was actually stabbed twice (once in the elbow, once in the abdomen). Copeland is currently in the hospital but is reported to be in stable condition. Maybe he can get back on the court this year if the Pacers make the playoffs.
