New video of Thabo Sefolosha’s arrest surfaces

A new video has been released showing a bit more of the goings-on during the incident Wednesday morning. when Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic were both arrested. Chris Copeland was also at the night club when he and a female partner were stabbed.

After that frightening incident, which Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic claim to not be involved in, the pair were arrested for not clearing the crime scene.

Thabo Sefolosha has suffered a season ending broken fibula from the arrest, and for this reason the NBA players union is going to conduct it’s own investigation.

This new video however shows a little bit more clearly what the arrest of Thabo Sefolosha looked like and how exactly it went down.

In the video, three police offers are trying to pull Thabo’s arms behind his back and Thabo responds “relax, man” while trying to free his his limbs. The police officers clearly didn’t take too kindly to that action, which is basically resisting arrest, and pulled him down to the street to cuff him.

After muscling Sefolosha to the ground an officer is shown brandishing his nightsick. It is unclear whether the officer uses this or is simply trying to threaten a facedown Sefolosha being handcuffed by what I counted as seven police officers.

This is a strange story of a strange group of players in a strange incident. I’m sure as new evidence comes out there will some clarity among the situation, but for now Sefolosha is out for the season and the Players Union is going to display some of it’s force that we as fans will get in full force in future negotiations.

This is Sefolosha’s 8th year in the league and he is averaging 5.3 points per game in 18.8 minutes.
