While the WWE fan base has not exactly been all that pleased with the last two editions of the event, there’s still no denying that the Royal Rumble is one of the most looked forward to events in WWE throughout the entire year. It gets the WrestleMania season officially kicked off, and we now know where the 2016 WrestleMania season will be getting started with the next edition of the Royal Rumble.
According to PW Insider, for the first time in two years the Royal Rumble will be moving away from the state of Pennsylvania and will be heading to the Sunshine State of Florida. On January 24, the latest edition of the Royal Rumble will be emanating live from the Amway Arena in Orlando.
In 2014, the Royal Rumble took place in Pittsburgh, while a few months ago, the 2015 show was set in front of the hostile crowd of Philadelphia. Both times, the fans were less than pleased with the ending of the event, with Batista and Roman Reigns getting the wins respectively. In both instances, the folks wanted Daniel Bryan to come out on top, and when he didn’t, they let their voices be heard to close the show, raining down boos on the winner as he stood tall.
Now as for this 2016 Royal Rumble in Orlando, this is going to be an important one. This event will start off the build to WrestleMania 32, which the company is trying to build as one of the more successful ‘Manias of all time. WWE wants nothing more than to pack 100,000 people inside of AT&T Stadium in Dallas, so having a viable Royal Rumble winner this time around heading towards the main event is probably more crucial than it has ever been.
