The Masters: Tiger Woods says he popped a wrist bone back into place (Video)

Tiger Woods injured his wrist on the ninth hole and said that a bone in his wrist popped out, but he popped it back in.

Tiger Woods drove the ball under the trees into the pine needles on the par four ninth hole at Augusta National on Sunday, and what happened next made everyone’s heart stop for a second.

He took a hard swing down on the ball in order to lift it and he hit a chunk of wood from a tree root with his club, which caused him to drop the club and wince in pain holding his right wrist. Were we about to see another Tiger Woods withdrawal even after all of his success this week?

The injury remained with Woods as he continued to shake his wrist trying to rid himself of the pain. It looked as though the pain from his wrist shot all the way up his arm to his shoulder, and an errant shank on the 10th hole didn’t make anything better.

This much, we all know. But we’re not sure about was Tiger’s remarks after he finished his round 1-over par, 5-under for the tournament. During his post-round interview Tiger said about the injury “Oh, just a bone popped out and a joint kind of went out of place, but I put it back in.”

We’re not really sure the validity of this. I mean, we never saw him actually pop a joint back in his wrist, but I guess it could’ve happened? He did begin to play better after the tenth hole and was able to snatch an eagle at the par five 13th hole. Whether or not this is because he popped a joint back in, is definitely questionable.

Twitter was also pretty skeptical after Tiger’s comments:

Ouch, Tiger. Not exactly the, “Wow, Tiger is amazing” type of response he may have expected, but if this did happen then you have to give the guy props. Maybe we’ll see “Tiger Woods M.D.” on the next leaderboard.
