Well, Cabrera took care of that problem quickly and in a big way against a couple of Indians pitchers.
Cabrera’s first bomb of the year came in the first inning against T.J. House that pushed the Tigers’ lead to 3-0.
Miggy followed that two-run bomb up with a solo shot in the fourth inning, marking his third hit and fourth RBI in the contest.
It’s undoubtedly an encouraging sign for the Tigers to see Cabrera break his home run drought on Sunday, as his power dipped considerably last year (he hit 44 home runs in 2013 and only 25 in 2014).
Regardless of his recent power struggles, few in the game today can hit as well as Cabrera can and he’s proven that even further during this season’s early games.
Cabrera is off to an incredible start this season at the plate, as his batting average is now up to an incredible .520 and his RBI total is now eight.
With the power perhaps returning in a big way, the rest of MLB might be in trouble.
