John Wall and the Washington Wizards aren’t good at taking pictures

Someone needs to teach the Washington Wizards how to take a good photo.

Do you remember those early kindergarten pictures you would take as a whole class? The ones where everyone bundled up together and (tried to) simultaneously smile? It was impossible to get the perfect picture, and it often took a lot of attempts just to get an acceptable photo (or people became too frustrated and simply gave up).

While there are no longer any nap times – sadly – or people needing assistance to use the bathroom, those kindergarten-esque group photos never truly go away. From important life events to boring work mandated things, people are always taking big group pictures.

The Washington Wizards are no exception to this, and all the players have to partake in multiple group photos throughout the year: including the team photo that has everyone in it.

Is this one of those kindergarten class pictures I was talking about or a professional team photo of grown men. Multiple people have their heads turned from the camera? Really? And of all people, John Wall – who is supposed to be their leader – looks the most lost out of anyone. Hopefully they were all able to get on the same page for at least one good team photo. It would be pretty sad if someone was always looking away.

Terrible photos aside, the Wizards only have two games remaining to cap off a very successful regular season. Washington has a 46-34 record which pretty much locks them into the 5-seed of the Eastern Conference playoffs. It would have been nice for them to get on the top half of the seeding so they could have had home-court advantage for at least one series, but things aren’t always perfect. This is a team that has only been to the playoffs once in the last six years, so they know how hard it is just to get in. While the Wizards know where they stand, they still aren’t certain on who will be their first round opponent. The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors are battling it out with the same record, and the Wizards will play whoever slips down the stretch (will play Chicago if the records are the same due to Toronto having the tiebreaker).

Washington had some slumps this year and 46 wins doesn’t seem like an incredible season, but it’s actually one of the best seasons the team has ever had. Since moving to Washington in 1973, the most wins they have ever had in a regular season are 60, 54, 48 (2x) and 47. That means this Washington team could be tied for the third-most wins the franchise has had if they win their last two games. That would have to mean a great deal to Wall and company.
