Jim Brown shares thoughts on new Cleveland Browns’ uniforms

Jim Brown weighs in on the Cleveland Browns’ new uniforms and new look.

Jim Brown was at the unveiling of the new uniforms for Cleveland Browns this Tuesday, among other greats in the franchise.

Jim Brown sported the Browns jersey, and unlike a large contingent of Browns fans on the internet he he likes the new uniforms, which have a total of 9 different combinations.

Brown was quoted as saying, via the team’s site:

"“They’re going to look sharp,” Brown said as he stood on the orange carpet before Tuesday’s ceremony. “Cleveland has these great colors. They’re fantastic. Brown is my favorite. When I heard about it, I just thought somebody was very smart to create that kind of excitement.“A lot of these college teams are real sharp when they come out, Oregon, Oregon State. Now the Browns are going to be in the top echelon of fashion.”"

The jerseys were unvieled to delight of 3,000 fans at the ballroom of the convention center. Other greats of the franchise showed up in support of the new jerseys such as Greg Pruitt, Hanford Dixon, Jamel White, Dan Fike, Bob Golic, John Thierry, Felix Wright and Kevin Mack.

The last team to undertake the project of rebranding via new uniforms was the Buccaneers and before that was Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Miami. Each of these projects have made for a pretty good looking upgrade of the what feels bland look of some teams. It will be interesting to see who the next team will be with the project.

There are a lot of good choices out there but personally I would like to see what the Raiders could do with the Nike design team. They already have a great color combo and logo, this coming from a native of Kansas City.

Brown is right that the Nike team does do some pretty ornate and interesting stuff with the NCAA and it would be nice to a little more integrated into the NFL.
