Popular NBA referee, Joey Crawford, tripped during the Charlotte Hornets trip to Toronto take on the Raptors.

Apparently their is an invisible rope in the Air Canada Center in Toronto. And famous referee Joey Crawford forgot about it.

During the Charlotte Hornets trip to Toronto to take on the Raptors, Joey Crawford tripped while hustling down the court to get in position to make a call. He ate it pretty hard too.

So far the score of this game is as follows:

Invisible Rope: 1

Joey Crawford: 0

In all seriousness though, their was probably just something slippery on the court. Most likely some spilt water or gatorade. Crawford has had a history of making sure his courts are nice and clean too. One time he even came close to ejecting a mop boy when the floor wasn’t clean enough.

I’m sure Crawford will have some stern words for whichever mop boy is working at the Air Canada Center. If the floor isn’t clean enough for the referee to walk on, how are the players supposed to run up and down the sidelines?

But unfortunately for Crawford he wiped out losing some of his dignity due to the mop boys lack of effort on Wednesday night. Perhaps this was payback for the fate the mop boy in the NCAA tournament suffered. During the Oregon vs. Wisconsin game, a mop boy tripped on the slippery court and the referee on the sideline just stared and watched.

Fortunately, Crawford was okay and he stayed in the game. But the humiliation of this epic fail will stick with him for years to come. Let’s just hope he doesn’t take out his frustration on any more mop boys.
