Raptors’ Demar Derozan nails buzzer beater (Video)
Toronto Raptors guard, Demar Derozan nails incredible buzzer beater at the half against the Charlotte Hornets.
Buzzer beaters don’t come around every day. For the Toronto Raptors, they are probably pretty glad it happened this evening considering the playoff implications their final game of the regular season carry.
As time was expiring in the first half, Derozan found himself closely guarded at the top of the key. But with ice in his veins, he did a couple cross overs leading into a spin move and fade away jumper that lifted the Raptors to a 11 point lead going into the second half.
A win by the Raptors and a Chicago Bulls loss would mean Toronto would get the no. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Which would mean an easier first round match up in Milwaukee. If they lose or the Bulls win, they would most likely play the Washington Wizards. While the Wizards have been inconsistent this year, Toronto still would probably prefer to play the Bucks in the first round.
Either way, if Toronto gets past their first round opponent they will most likely face either the Atlanta Hawks or Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the playoffs. They will certainly be underdogs if they go up against either of these teams. They definitely have their work cut out for them. If Derozan keeps hitting crazy buzzer beaters, who knows what could happen come playoff time.
