Jordan Spieth can’t count how much money he’s won off Tony Romo

Masters champions Jordan Spieth can’t even count how much money he has won off of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
It looks like football fields aren’t the only place that Tony Romo comes up short.

While on the Jim Rome show, The Masters champion Jordan Spieth said he can’t count how much money he has won off the Dallas Cowboys quarterback in friendly golf games.
“Ha ha. Oh man. I don’t know. I can’t even count that high,” Spieth said jokingly, when he was asked. “He’s a good friend and a great competitor so we have fun out there.”
In all fairness to Romo, Spieth said he doesn’t ask for a lot of strokes when they play.
“The good news is he doesn’t swallow his pride and take a lot of strokes,” Spieth said. “He likes to play maybe like 2 or 3 a side, which means I’m usually on the winning end of that one.”
That partly is because Romo is a pretty good golfer, Golf Digest ranked him as the best golfer in a category of professional athletes. That is pretty high praise. They also put his handicap at +3.3 which is rather incredible and somewhere close to what some lower-tier professional golfers play at.
There was also a point in times where Romo was actively pursuing a success in amateur golf, which some Cowboys fans felt like distracted him from reaching his potential in the NFL. At one point he shot a lower score than his partner Tiger Wood during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
But I would argue that Romo’s over confidence that gets him into the trouble on the football field also gets him into trouble on the links, Spieth is one of the best golfers in the world, you can take a few more strokes if you’d like. Not to mention, Romo’s recent rash of back injuries has to be hindering his golf game as well.
