NBA Playoff Picture: Can bottom four seeds cause chaos in East?
The Milwaukee Bucks turnaround from last year to this year has been pretty remarkable. Owning a league worst 15-67 record last year wasn’t exactly what the Bucks had in mind. But this year they have more than doubled their wins and are entering the playoffs with plenty of momentum.
So how are the Bucks going to fair against the Chicago Bulls in the 3 vs. 6 seed match up?
For one, they have only beaten the Bulls once out of four match ups in the regular season. And that was mainly because Michael Carter-Williams went off for 21 points on a limping Bulls team who forced their severely undersized Aaron Brooks to guard the 6’6 Carter-Williams. But when the two meet in the playoffs, Derrick Rose will be back. Not only will he be able to contain Carter-Williams a bit more than Brooks did, but he will also pose a huge threat on the offensive end.
In all honesty, the Bucks kind of got a poor luck of the draw here. If the Bulls wouldn’t have edged out the Raptors for the three seed, I could have seen Milwaukee making it to the Eastern Conference quarter finals. They match up a bit better with Toronto, considering they beat them in their most recent match up in the regular season.
But unfortunately, they have to play the Bulls. I can’t see the Bucks beating the Bulls in a seven game series. But don’t be surprised if Chicago drops a game or two. After all, Derrick Rose is just returning from being on the DL for six weeks. So he is bound to have an off shooting night at least once.
