Dwight Howard’s ridiculous blocked shot (Video)
By Will Osgood
Dwight Howard crashed the Dallas Mavericks party with a crazy block on fellow center Tyson Chandler on Saturday night.
Dwight Howard came to play in the first game of the first round of the NBA Playoffs Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks. First, he had a nasty alley-oop off the alley from MVP candidate James Harden.
Then he did this — which is just unfair and dirty.
Okay, so it may not look as impressive it’s thus been described. But consider this: Tyson Chandler is actually two inches taller than Howard. Again, that doesn’t necessarily mean much.
Howard is a freak with long arms and unreal athleticism for a man his size. That he was able to stay right on Chandler’s hip throughout the entirety of his move proves that much.

So too does the fact that Howard swatted the shot so effortlessly. Normally blocked shots look so nasty because so much effort and energy are required to complete them.
In this case, though, Howard simply rises up and sticks his arm with nary a swat. That’s not normal. Nobody does that.
Except Howard. He brought his A-game to Toyota Center Saturday night, and from the opening tip he started to make the Mavericks and Tyson Chandler pay.
