Floyd Mayweather scoffs at Conor McGregor, doesn’t take ‘that dude seriously
By Mike Dyce
Floyd Mayweather responds to Conor McGregor’s claim that he’d kill him in under 30 seconds.
Floyd Mayweather is nearing his fight against Manny Pacquiao, some label the mega-fight as the thing that will save boxing, some say it is boxing’s last hurrah before the UFC officially takes the lead in combat sports.

One of the UFC’s brightest stars in Connor McGregor recently commented on Floyd Mayweather, saying he would kill the undefeated boxer in less than 30 seconds. As you can imagine, Mayweather wasn’t too fond of those comments.
“I don’t take that dude seriously. He is just trying to get publicity,” Mayweather said according to a TMZ report.
Their source also claims that Mayweather scoffed as well.
But let’s be serious here, McGregor absolutely would. In McGregor’s comments he elaborates that his arsenal for an MMA fight is vastly superior than Mayweather’s, which is true. Give Mayweather the edge in striking and the stand up game, but what about once McGregor gets a hold of Mayweather.
What about in the other disciplines of MMA, jiu jitsu, muay thai, wrestling… not to mention, elbows, kicks, submissions and more.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an MMA fighter talk about fighting Mayweather, every time Ronda Rousey dismantles an opponent people ask her if she could beat Mayweather.
She even outlined the exact plan she’d use in that situation, and it pretty much outlines how McGregor could beat Mayweather as well.
“I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away,” Rousey told Power 106. “I would just be skittering after him like the one dude in Bloodsport that was doing the whole monkey crawl fight system. I would do that. I would just bear crawl over there too low for him to hit me, and I’d tackle him down…. I spent a lot of time [on the ground], and I doubt that he does.”
As much as Mayweather doesn’t agree, there is a large contingent of people that disagree with him. That group not so surprisingly also includes Dana White and Pacquiao. White also said that any UFC fighter could beat Mayweather, let alone one who has been as dominant as McGregor.
