Ludacris, the rapper and long-time Atlanta resident, will also help out on the pregame introductions for Game Two of the NBA playoffs.

The comparison and contrasts of NBA fans leads only to ruin for small market teams. Some teams get someone like Jared from Subway, like the Indiana Pacers. Other teams get the entire Atlanta rap scene.

Just a few weeks after 2 Chainz Night at the Phillips Arena that saw him perform live, the Atlanta Hawks will be bringing Ludacris on board for the playoffs.

Ludacris has already enjoyed a strong 2015, most notably riding in wake of the success of Furious 7, which was the most financially successful of the “cars parachuting out of planes” franchise and the most successful movie of 2015. He also released Ludaversal, his ninth studio album which has returned some pretty favorable reviews.

Combine that with the Hawks’ number one seed in the East, and fortune’s wheel looks like its spinning up for Ludacris.

From NBA.com/Hawks:

"The Atlanta Hawks and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges today announced plans for the Atlanta-bred music and movie superstar to “Disturb Tha Peace” at Philips Arena on April 22, when Atlanta hosts the Brooklyn Nets at 7:00 p.m. for Game 2 of the Hawks’ first round playoff series, presented by Kia Motors.More from Atlanta HawksNBA Rumors: 5 best trade destinations for Pascal SiakamThe new NBA flopping rules explainedNBA rumors: Raptors insider drops one player mentioned heavily in trade discussions3 disastrous Zach LaVine trades the Bulls need to avoidNBA Free Agency Live Deal Tracker: Grading every signing made worst to best“As an Atlantan who has supported the Hawks for years, I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the organization in a memorable way,” says Ludacris. “This has been an incredible season for the city of Atlanta and the team, and I’m excited take the energy in Philips Arena up a notch for the playoffs.”"

What does this mean? It means that Jay-Z is obligated to perform at halftime of Game 3 or he looses his right to ever buy back his shares in the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets may need the extra boost. They lost Game 1 yesterday to the Hawks 99-92, and while they were able to show some encouraging signs in that game such as winning the rebounding battle, They failed to show any ability to create solid offensive looks. The Hawks simply appeared to have more skill, more depth and less Deron Williams.

Atlanta v. Brooklyn might be one of the worst basketball matchups in the first round, but it is the best hip-hop matchup. I shudder to think what a Portland v. Memphis battle would entail, perhaps an appearance by Three 6 Mafia.
