San Diego Chargers 2015 schedule released, dates and times
The NFL has released their 2015 schedule, and the San Diego Chargers will have some interesting match-ups against the AFC West, AFC North, and NFC North.
In a division where the Denver Broncos rule the roost and the Kansas City Chiefs entered the year as a close runner-up, the San Diego Chargers needed to be a model of consistency in order to figure into the playoff picture in the AFC West. There was no room for error.
Unfortunately, the season played out in a completely different manner. The Chargers were marred with inconsistency, unable to put together anything more than a two-game win streak until winning their final 5 games on the way to a 9-7 record.
In AFC that featured six teams winning 10 or more games, 9 wins just wasn’t enough to get it done and the Chargers missed the playoffs because they were unable to get out of their own way.
San Diego spent their offseason addressing some huge needs. In addition to adding wide-outs Stevie Johnson and Jacoby Jones, the Chargers also bolstered their line by adding Orlando Franklin. The fact that they simultaneously weakened the division-rival Broncos in the process didn’t hurt either.
Then again, the game isn’t played solely on the back of the roster you assemble, but also the schedule you have to endure. Each year, NFL teams play each team within their division twice and they play one AFC and one NFC division on a rotational basis. To fill in the final two spots on the schedule, the teams need to take on opponents who finished in the same position in their respective divisions.
For the San Diego Chargers, it looks like it will be an interesting schedule to say the least. After playing an AFC West division that roughed up the Chiefs to the tune of a 2-4 record in 2014, San Diego will see the NFC North and the AFC North on their schedules. To balance out the schedule, the Chargers also throw in match-ups with the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars.
So what does the San Diego Chargers schedule look like for the 2015 season?
