Has the Derrick Rose injury curse struck Nikola Mirotic?
By Josh Hill
The Chicago Bulls finally have Derrick Rose back, but he may have cursed the team and doomed them to an eternity of never having nice things.
When the Chicago Bulls played Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks, they got Derrick Rose back in what seemed to be MVP-form. But as the Bulls continue their push to a possible NBA Finals appearance, it’s becoming apparent that they’re not allowed to have nice things.
Rose may be back, but fans are still waking up this morning fearing for the ligaments of one of their players. In Game 2, the Bulls lost rookie forward Nikola Mitotic to what appeared to be a leg injury of some sort.
The Bulls and leg injuries seemingly go together like America and apple pie.
According to CBS Sports, the Bulls do not believe that Nikola Mirotic’s injury is serious or that it involves ligament damage.
"Mirotic limped to the locker room with what the team described as a left quad strain. A league source told CBSSports.com on Tuesday that the injury is not believed to involve ligament damage, but Mirotic is being re-evaluated nonetheless."
This may also just be wishful thinking, as the Bulls dealing with a player who is banged up and possibly seriously injured seems to be just part of how they roll these days.

Rose may be back, but Mirotic is a player that fans are hoping the team can build around in the future and can make a centerpiece of the franchise.
With him injured, in an eerily similar way to how Rose has consistently been injured, fans are having flashbacks that are brining them down at a time when they should be excited. Chicago is looking to sweep the Bucks out of the postseason but this injury to Mirotic is unsettling and even if he ends up being alright, fans were violently sobered up from the playoff high they were riding.
