Another team with plenty of cap space in the off-season is the New York Knicks.

Could the Knicks be players for Rondo? They certainly have potential pieces that could be enticing to Rondo along with the large market and publicity that comes with playing in New York.

The Knicks will have Carmelo Anthony back along with a top lottery pick. Adding Rondo in to run the show and dish to Carmelo Anthony and whoever the Knicks draft would certainly be an improvement over this past season and perhaps enough to move the Knicks into a playoff spot.

Add in the fact that their is about to be a massive jump in the salary cap, and the Knicks could have plenty of cap space to add Rondo and other talented players in a few years.

If their draft pick pans out then the team is in even better position.

Having a talented player like Carmelo Anthony in place certainly makes it easier for the Knicks to be an attractive option.

The Knicks still have Jose Calderon under contract for a few more years, but his contract isn’t bad and Rondo certainly would be an upgrade. The Knicks in this scenario would have two capable point guards on the roster.

Would Rondo be enough to move the Knicks from out of contention to in contention?
