Deron Williams had a wide-open look with a chance to tie it up with just over 10 seconds left in Game 2, but he couldn’t covert the jumper.
So close, Deron. So close.

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams had a wide-open jumper with a chance to tie Game 2 with just over 10 seconds left, but the shot went in-and-out and the Atlanta Hawks ultimately took a 2-0 series lead.
It’s hard to get a better look than that. But those are the breaks sometimes.
Unfortunately for the Nets, they badly needed to take one of the first two games in Atlanta if they were to have any shot at pulling off the stunning series upset over the Hawks. It’s hard to imagine this Nets team giving the Hawks a good run for their money in this series after digging themselves such a big hole.
As for Williams, this is just yet another shortcoming during his disastrous tenure as a member of the Nets. Williams has never lived up to the hype or his max-level contract since he joined the team.
He had a chance to somewhat redeem himself tonight, but he just couldn’t come through yet again.
