Jack Nicholson is salty about the NBA playoffs
Lakers superfan Jack Nicholson says that the NBA season is over, now that his team is no longer playing.
Playoffs?! Don’t talk to Jack Nicholson about the playoffs!
Nicholson, a fixture on the sidelines at Lakers games for decades, told TMZ that the NBA season is over for him, despite the fact that the NBA playoffs just started. Apparently, if the Lakers aren’t in it, he could care less.
The statement is interesting given that Nicholson, one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, seemed close to giving up on the purple and gold just a couple of months ago. Not that we blame him. Based on how miserable this season was, writing that check for court side seats could not have been easy.
When confronted by the reporter, Jack showed little interest:
“I never talk about basketball in the off season,” Nicholson said. “It’s too much for me.”
When the reporter mentioned that it was not the off season for the Clippers, Nicholson quickly replied, “it is for me.”
These statements paint Jack as a strictly a Lakers fan, rather than a fan of the game of basketball. If he were a fan of the sport, he would know that there are a ton of interesting story lines and match ups to follow in the year’s postseason.

Will LeBron finally bring a championship back to Cleveland? With the addition of Derrick Rose, can the Bulls make it out of the East? Will Gregg Popovich’s magic touch get the Spurs their second consecutive title? Will Steph Curry and Klay Thompson be enough to lead Golden State to the Finals?
Oh, the drama. If Jack isn’t watching, it’s his loss.
Nicholson’s relationship with the Lakers is like one of a father and son. Sometimes they make you proud, sometimes they drive you crazy, but no matter what you will always love and support them – no matter what.
And if Spike Lee can make it through this year’s Knicks season, Jack can deal.
