He can also jump really high.
It’s no surprise that a player who participated in this past year’s dunk contest can jump higher than the rim.
Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll found out just how high Mason Plumlee can jump as Plumlee swatted away Carroll with ease.
As Carroll took a pass from Paul Millsap while heading full speed toward the hoop, he thought he had an open layup just past the outstretched arm of Plumlee.
Little did he know, Mason Plumlee can leap with any NBA and Plumlee’s head was above the rim as he smacked the shot right against the backboard.
Plumlee might not be a seven-footer like many of the young emerging shot blockers and have the wingspan that they do, but what he does have is a jumping ability not many centers have.
Seriously, how many guys can jump to where they are eye level with the hoop?
Certainly not DeMarre Carroll, who couldn’t get his shot high enough to get past Plumlee for the score.
Plumlee is beginning to show why he is one of the more impressive big men in the league.
He can do it all, he can score, rebound, and fly into the fifth row to block shots.
