Tony Romo predicted that the Dallas Cowboys would win the Super Bowl next season, but he’s way off base.

Every year, or so it seems, NFL players make a vow to their fans to bring home a Super Bowl and, most of the time, it never happens. This year, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is the guy who predicted his team would win the next Super Bowl.

Boy, is he wrong.

The Cowboys are one of the more wishy-washy teams in the league, meaning they are inconsistent and are never red-hot nor are they ever ice-cold. Last year, however, Dallas had its best season in quite some time, finishing the year 12-4 and winning the division on the way to a playoff berth.

They beat the Lions in the Wild Card round before losing to the Packers in the Divisional round. It was yet another Super Bowl-less year for the Cowboys and no one was surprised.

However, after winning the Nancy Lieberman Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this month, Romo made a promise to his fans.

"“This award is very meaningful to me, mostly because I get to be associated with this and to be associated with Nancy. It’s incredible and I really appreciate you, and we’re going to win a Super Bowl next year.”"

Pretty strong words. Let’s just take a look at why he’s wrong.
