It’s not exactly a playoff atmosphere at the Brooklyn Nets home arena.

Tickets for postseason games in New York are usually pricey, but this is a little ridiculous.

Brooklyn Nets fans don’t appear interested in taking in Game 3 of the team’s first round series against the Atlanta Hawks, as the Barclays Center was nearly empty just moments before tipoff, via Brett Pollakoff of NBCSports.com.

Of course, squeaking into the playoffs as an eighth seed in a week Eastern Conference is not what Nets fans had in mind at this point after Brooklyn made several expensive acquisitions prior to the 2013-14 season and completely mortgaged its future. Deron Williams has been a disaster of late, while Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are gone.

Perhaps Nets fans feel like their team has much of a chance against the 60-22 Hawks. However, Atlanta’s wins in the first two games were by seven and five points respectively, and the Nets jumped out to an early lead in Game 3.

Maybe a victory will draw a few more fans for Game 4 on Monday or even Game 6 if the Nets really make it a series. But this is just a weak effort for a team that might not be making the postseason again for a while.
