DraftKings Pitcher Picks For April 26
Here are my starting pitcher selections for DraftKings’ Sunday slate on April 26th, 2015. Good Luck!
High End ($8200 and up)
Jake Arrieta (CHI) at CIN for $9000: Arrieta has been dominant so far this season, averaging 24.6 FPPG with a 1.74 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 19 Ks in 20 2/3 IP. He leads the resurgent 9-7 Cubs into Great America Ball Park (18th in Park Factor Runs in 2014) against a Reds team that is just 18th in the majors in runs scored (66 in 17 games) in 2015.
Honorable Mention: Gio Gonzalez (WAS) at MIA for $8700: Good career stats vs. a struggling Marlins team. Coming off a solid outing vs. STL (0 R in 6 IP for 14.3 FP vs. STL).
Stay Away: Mike Fiers (MIL) vs. STL for $8200. Fiers (9.1 FPPG) hasn’t lasted more than 5 2/3 IP this season and faces the first place Cardinals and Lance Lynn at Miller Park. Don’t touch Fiers (or the league worst Brewers for that matter) until they straighten the ship.

Low End ($7200 and below)
Brandon Morrow (SD) at LA for $6,800: Morrow has pitched well this year at home in spacious Petco Park, averaging 21.3 FPPG in 2 starts. With a resurgent lineup (3rd in majors in runs scored), look for him and the Padres to do well today against the Dodgers and Yankee cast-off Scott Baker.
Honorable Mention: Drew Pomeranz (OAK) vs. HOU for $6600: Pomeranz was lights out in his only home start (30.6 FP on 4/10) this year. After giving up a HR a game on the road the last two outings, he returns to O.co Coliseum (21 in Park Factor HRs in 2014) against an Astros team (23rd in runs scored) who are rolling out Asher Wojciechowski (6.00 ERA) for his 3rd career start.
Stay Away: Nathan Eovaldi (NYY) vs. NYM for $6500: Eovaldi faces the red-hot Mets who have won 12 of their last 13 with underrated Johnathan Niese. Eovaldi was also roughed up by the Mets in 2 starts last season. Buyers beware – there are better options elsewhere.
