The Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to know more about Kevin Love’s injury and it appears that he could be lost for at least two weeks.

The Cleveland Cavaliers bounced the Boston Celtics out of the postseason on Sunday afternoon, but they did it largely without Kevin Love helping them out. The Cavaliers lost Love in the first quarter of the game and he is likely going to be missing a lot more time than that.

Initially there was optimism about Love’s injury, but it appears that as more is being known about the severity of his shoulder injury, the less positive people are being.

It’s still very early on in the process and nothing will be definitively known until an MRI is done on Monday, but Kevin Love is expected to miss a minim of two weeks.

If the Cavaliers lose Love for two weeks, that basically takes him out of action for the next series against the Chicago Bulls. Right now the word on the street seems to suggest that a Bulls-Cavaliers series could start on Saturday or Sunday, meaning Love will have missed one week at that point with another to go.

It’s very possible that he returns to the series, but his absence will change things in a big way. Additionally, there might not be a need to rush him back from the injury as prolonging the time he could miss would be even more detrimental to the Cavaliers NBA Finals dreams.

This is what Cleveland was afraid of, as a major injury has thrown their entire season up in the air and it’s now a waiting process to see just how long Love will indeed be out.
