The New York Rangers are preparing to go head-to-head with the Washington Capitals in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the team’s Twitter account has ceased writing capital letters in any of its posts.

Looking back at the New York Rangers’ Twitter feed, it posted extremely formally and always ensured that punctuation was correct, however since the Rangers secured a 2-1 Game 7 victory over the New York Islanders, their Twitter account has been noticeably less punctuated.

This was the last capitalised tweet sent out from the Rangers Twitter account directly after their victory over the islanders.

However, the news broke that they would be meeting the Washington Capitals in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs and, low and behold, no capital letters anymore!

The Rangers lost out to the LA Kings in the final of the Stanley Cup last year and will be looking to get a second bite at the coveted trophy they so nearly secured in 2014. They were the first NHL franchise in the United States to win the Stanley Cup.

The Rangers have lifted the cup four times, the most recent time coming in 1993/94 but a tough Washington Capitals side stands in their way of reaching the third round of this year’s championship.

They seem to be taking it very seriously on all fronts if their Twitter feed is anything to go by!
