The Cleveland Cavaliers completed a sweep of the Celtics on Sunday, and LeBron James is getting restless waiting for the next round to begin.

Sweeping your opponent in a playoff series is by all means a good thing, no matter what way you spin it. After playing all season long to get to this point, I simply do not buy the notion that teams lose their mental edge by sweeping a series and having to wait around for a few extra days. If anything, it gives them some much-needed rest after a long regular season.

The one drawback to a series weep, however, is that you find yourself playing the waiting game; something that can grow tiresome, especially if the series you are waiting on goes to seven games.

LeBron James finds himself in this situation at the moment, as his Cleveland Cavaliers finished a sweep of the Boston Celtics on Sunday. Unfortunately for LeBron and his Cavs teammates, the Milwaukee Bucks will not go away, winning two straight and pushing themselves off the ropes after falling down 0-3 to the Chicago Bulls.

If the Bucks pull off another upset tomorrow, the Cavaliers will have gone eight days without playing before the next round begins, and LeBron, quite frankly, is getting tired of the wait.

"“This is challenging for me,” James told Cleveland.com.“I have a lot of energy and I’m getting bored. I’m ready to play. I’m challenged for my patience.”"

While James and his teammates may be getting bored with the wait, the time off is exactly what their team needs at the moment. While it is tough to prepare for your next opponent without knowing who they are, the extra practice will benefit a Cavaliers team that is without two of their starters for the first two games of the next round.

Shooting guard J.R. Smith is suspended the next two games after striking Celtics forward Jae Crowder in the face. Talk about an incredibly dumb decision, but then again, none of Smith’s antics surprise me at this point.

The loss that will really sting, however, and have much further reaching implications, is losing Kevin Love to a shoulder injury for possibly the remainder of the postseason. Love suffered a dislocated shoulder after Boston’s Kelly Olynyk yanked his arm in a blatant cheap shot.

I understand LeBron’s feelings completely, and I would be bored as well if I was left twiddling my thumbs for over a week while waiting for my next opponent.

Regardless, the time off is absolutely a positive thing for a team that will be featuring a brand new starting lineup, whenever the next round finally kicks off.
