With the 25th pick in Mike Mayock’s NFL mock draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Marcus Peters, cornerback, from Washington. Mayock has Peters rated as the third-best player at his position.

2014 Recap

Baltimore finished third in the AFC North with a 9-7 record, earning the AFC’s sixth seed. The Ravens defeated the AFC North-champion Steelers in the Wild Card round before losing to the New England Patriots the following week, despite an early 14-0 lead. John Harbaugh’s team has consistently been a contender over the past decade under the guidance of quarterback Joe Flacco, who has only missed the playoffs once in his six-year career.

Team needs

The Ravens need to fill some holes left by free agency. Baltimore desperately need a receiver to fill the shoes of Torrey Smith, along with a tight end and long-term running back. On defense, outside linebacker and cornerback are both areas of concern.

Last year’s pick

C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama. Mayock absolutely nailed it, and Mosley became an impact player for Baltimore in his rookie campaign with 133 tackles and two interceptions.

Scheduled pick

On Thursday night, the Ravens hold the 25th-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
