The Miami Dolphins, with Mike Tannenbaum brought in to help in the decision-making process early this winter, have been quite aggressive prior to the draft. You might even say they made the most noise in the AFC of any franchise.
They brought in defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in free agency and gave him the richest non-quarterback contract in NFL history. They didn’t stop there, though, acquiring wide receiver Kenny Stills from New Orleans for inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and their third-round pick in this draft.

Later that day they shipped Mike Wallace to the Minnesota Vikings and got back Minnesota’s fifth-round pick as part of the exchange. They also recently brought in veteran receiver Greg Jennings, who worked with head coach Joe Philbin in Green Bay.
Yet, there are still holes on the roster. The cornerback spot is a gaping hole, even after signing the underrated Brice McCain. Though underrated, McCain’s best fit is as a nickel, meaning in a perfect world the Dolphins would find two starters at corner in this draft.
That leads to the obvious statement that if Marcus Peters is available at 14, the Dolphins should not let a second tick off the clock before turning in the card with his name on it. He is a shutdown corner, and the Dolphins are desperate for such a thing.
Though they possess only six picks in this draft, they could spare going to that position again later in the draft as well.
Here are the six picks the Dolphins hold in this weekend’s draft, which begins Thursday evening.
