Not only are teams calling the Tennessee Titans about that No. 2 overall pick, but it looks as if they’re actively searching to get out of it

As we inch closer and closer to the 2015 NFL Draft, it’s looking more and more possible that the Tennessee Titans will not be the team picking at No. 2 overall. Now, though, this isn’t only evidenced by the fact that teams are calling them about a possible deal, but apparently the Titans are making some outgoing calls of their own.

According to NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington, aside from taking the rumored calls from teams that they have been receiving, they’re also doing some work of their own on the phones, calling teams to gauge their interest in a possible trade.

Again, this significantly ups the chances that they will not be there when the No. 2 overall pick is announced on Thursday night.

Of course, the biggest rumor over the past few weeks has been reported discussions about a possible deal with the San Diego Chargers for Philip Rivers, although multiple people have shot that down. It doesn’t necessarily make it not true, but a lot can change between now and Thursday night.

Also, you have to wonder how many calls the Titans front office has made to the Philadelphia Eagles. No matter how much this can get shot down, we all have a pretty good idea that Chip Kelly would love to get up there to No. 2 and take Marcus Mariota, who will presumably be there after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Jameis Winston.

Given the rumors, the Chargers and Eagles seem like obvious candidates for teams that have taken calls from the Titans, but who else could there possibly be? If the Titans are taking the initiative and making the calls themselves now, there’s something they’re specifically targeting.

Yes, can’t you tell that the draft is just about 24 hours away now?
