The Baltimore Ravens needed some help on the offensive side of the ball and they got that help thanks to Breshad Perriman.

The Ravens apparently had their eyes on Missouri edge rusher Shane Ray, but the little spies and birds of the Denver Broncos were able to move up and steal Ray from the Ravens. So instead, the team has decided to take a receiver and replace the production of Torrey Smith.

Perriman shot up draft boards as of late, and the University of Central Florida player became one of the hottest commodities in a loaded draft board at wide receiver. Perriman is a burner, and excels at getting over the top of the defense and stretching out the secondary. Perriman is a sharp, almost violent route-runner who can take defenses off balance and beat the secondary with this feet rather than when the ball is in the air. He does have issues sometimes with his hands, and while his route-running is violent, it is unpolished.

The Ravens needed to get help at defensive back. With Marcus Peters and Kevin Johnson already off of the board for the team to select, perhaps they decided that none of the other options were worth the risk. Jalen Collins for LSU was a possibility, but his inexperience made him less of an attractive option.

Clearly, the Ravens have decided to replace the speed lost by the departure of Torrey Smith. The team needs playmakers, but they are getting one without a reliable offensive skill set. Perriman is a high-risk, high-reward selection, and for this one, I have to go with the risk.
