With the No. 20 pick in the NFL Draft the Philadelphia Eagles selected USC wide receiver and punt returner Nelson Agholor

The Philadelphia Eagles have been the talk of the offseason with head coach Chip Kelly making the bold move to trade All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso in a move that kicked off a crazy offseason for the team.

After Kelly traded the former rushing champion, the Eagles let Jeremy Maclin walk in free agency where he signed with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid in Kansas City and traded Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford.

But all of those moves were minor compared to the trade rumors that surrounded the franchise because Kelly coveted his quarterback at Oregon, Marcus Mariota. The Eagles reportedly made a massive offer to get the No. 2 pick that included packaging Bradford and former first round pick Fletcher Cox in addition to much, much more.

Ultimately, the Eagles didn’t make that trade or any other trade as they stayed at the No. 20 pick and took USC receiver Nelson Agholor who steps in to fill the shoes of Maclin. Jon Gruden said he is exactly the same as Maclin immediately after the pick and he loves the pick.

He ran a 4.42 40 at 6-1 and 190 pounds and caught 104 passes for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns and will step in and be the team’s punt returner after running back four punts for touchdowns the last two years with the Trojans.

After all the drama, the Eagles made a very sensible and smart pick.
