Daily Fantasy Baseball: DraftKings Pitcher Picks for April 30

facebooktwitterreddit

Thanks for coming to FantasyCPR.com, the première site for Daily Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Picks! My Wednesday picks were serviceable (no huge games but no explosions either) as Zack Greinke ($10200 18.1 FP), Alex Wood ($8400, 13.1 FP) and Carlos Martinez ($7700, 14.1 FP) put up numbers that probably wouldn’t win you big tournaments, but definitely were competitive in 50/50s and H2Hs. If you have benefitted from my picks this year (which you should have), then follow me on Twitter so you can get my selections as soon as they are out.

Here are my DraftKings pitcher picks for April 30th, 2015. Good Luck!

Stephen Strasburg (WAS) at NYM for $10200: Strasburg is off to a mediocre start in 2015 (1-2, 4.88 ERA, 1.63 WHIP), but he has historically heated up after the first month of the season throughout his career. And he has pitched better of late, averaging 19.9 FPPG in his last two starts. Strasburg absolutely loves Citi Field, going 3-1 with a 1.97 ERA, .088 WHIP and 44K in 32 IP. The upside is very high here as his K/9 numbers are always top-notch. Plus, the Mets are coming down to earth as they are 2-4 with 3.7 runs per game in their last 6 while the Nats’ amazing 13-12 comeback win on Tuesday vs. ATL seems to have sparked them.

  • Mike Leake (CIN) at ATL for $7200: Leake has been solid so far this season with 17 FPPG to go along with a 3.90 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and .202 OBA. He faces the Braves, who have lost 7 of their last 10. The former 2009 8th overall pick has pitched well against Atlanta historically, with 3 wins, 2.43 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and an OBA of .233 in 6 career starts. This pick is about value, and at $7200 he will give you a good return on investment and can be paired with a higher priced pitcher.

Long Shot of the Day: Trevor May (MIN) vs. CWS. The young and talented May has improved recently after a rough start, getting 21.1 FP on 4/19 vs. CLE and having 5 Ks and 11.1 FP in 3 and 1/3 IP vs. SEA in his last start before being removed after being hit by a line drive. He has an impressive 13 Ks and only 2 BB in 14 2/3 IPs. Also, the Twins are playing better of late, especially at home where they are 5-4. They do face Chris Sale, but he and the White Sox may be out of sorts after the bizarre weekend in Baltimore. Lastly, Chicago is only hitting .236 overall (21st in the league) and .221 on the road (26th). May is worth a flyer in a low-price, large tournament.

Stay Away: T. J. House (CLE) vs. TOR for $5200. If you are looking for a low-price bargain, simply shop elsewhere. Even this early in the season, House’s 12.60 ERA and 2.60 WHIP is ridiculous as well as his fantasy game totals of -11, .8, and 2. The 7-13 Indians are struggling and are facing a Blue Jays squad that is first in the league in scoring at 5.31 runs a game. This one could get ugly.
