Potential No. 1 draft pick Jameis Winston has a red carpet at his draft party.

Jameis is ready for his close up.

Jameis Winston, the potential first overall pick in the 2015 draft, is hosting a draft party at his house. The party, which will be televised across America, has a very special feature – a red carpet.

The former Florida State quarterback must feel pretty confident about going number one.

The over-the-top draft party needs to become a trend, just like the players wearing wild, tailored suits and diamond-faced watches when they come up on stage to bro-hug Roger Goodell. It would be quite entertaining to see what each of the potential draft picks do to one-up each other in the party department.

A red carpet is bossy for two reasons. The first, is that it let’s people know that the party is important. Every great party has a red carpet, that’s just a fact. The second is that it gives Jameis’ friends and family a glimpse into his future as a star, NFL quarterback.

The potential problem with have a red carpet at your house party, though, is that the party inside needs to live up to the red carpet-level expectations. You can’t have a red carpet outside and a folding table, a couple bowls of chips, a cooler of drinks and a Spotify playlist inside. You have got to go big.

For Jameis to live up to the hype, he should have at least one of the following things:

– A chocolate fountain

– An ice sculpture (preferably a life-sized one of Jameis)

– Tennessee Titans logo centerpieces

– A fountain containing any beverage other than water

– Shrimp. Lots of shrimp.

– A buffet of crab legs (to stick it to all the haters)

– A dance floor

One of these items is good, but all of these items is best.

Let’s hope, for Winston’s sake, that his NFL career lives up to the red carpet-level expectations he’s setting from day one.
