Even if he’s made available, the Dallas Cowboys will not go after Browns QB Johnny Manziel via trade

With the recent rumors that the Cleveland Browns are looking to get up to the No. 2 spot occupied by the Tennessee Titans so they can take Marcus Mariota, the future of Johnny Manziel in Cleveland is more up in the air than it ever has been before. This has fueled some speculation that Manziel could be made available for a trade, but if he is, the Dallas Cowboys will not be in on it.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, should Manziel be made available for a trade, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys brass will be steering clear of striking a potential deal.

This is somewhat significant news because, as you’ll all remember, the Cowboys and Manziel were tied to one another pretty heavily during the first round of last year’s draft when the Heisman winner was falling down the board. He was available for the Cowboys to take when it was their turn, but they passed and went for some offensive line help with Zack Martin.

However, we would come to find out later that Jerry Jones, in the war room, was pretty adamant about taking Manziel to groom as the next guy under center in Dallas eventually, but everyone else in the room reportedly convinced him that it was a bad idea.

So, some would think that if the Browns decide they want to part ways with the troubled star that the Cowboys would be one of the first teams in on the action.

Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case now.
