The NFL Draft is a great chance to kick back amongst friends and enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage, and here is a game to make your Draft Day experience even better.

Whether you are worried about your team blowing another draft pick, or you simply need a way to pass the time during the 10 minutes in-between first round picks, the NFL Draft provides plenty of excuses to enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage.

A drinking game i.e. the easiest way to make your Draft Day experience even more interesting, as long as you make sure that you are drinking responsibly. After all, you can only listen to Mel Kiper yell and Chris Berman stutter his way through all the sweat for so long before you need a cold one.

An NFL Draft Drinking Game is the best way to make sure you enjoy the draft in the true NFL spirit. As we’ve learned over the years, nothing goes with football like a bunch of beer and shouting at the TV over things that you can’t control through raising your voice.

Here’s a look at your 2015 NFL Draft Drinking Game:

Take one drink every time:

  • A draftee and Roger Goodell engage in the new tradition of the awkward bro hug at the podium
  • A new team has been rumored to be trading up to draft Marcus Mariota
  • Jameis Winston and “character concerns” are used in the same sentence
  • The word hybrid is used to describe a defensive end or linebacker
  • Roger Goodell is booed (you probably will want a low alcohol content beverage for this one)
  • A player is referred to as “the safest pick” or “one of the safest picks” in the draft
  • A player is called a “workhorse” or “workout warrior”
  • The phrase “difference maker” is said
  • Mel Kiper does one of the following things:
    • Refers to a defensive back’s hips
    • Says the phrase “football speed”
    • Talks about a player’s ability to move in space
    • Says a player has a “high motor”
    • Praises a player for his intangibles, instincts or football IQ
    • Talks about how a “raw” player has good “upside”
    • Uses the phrase “long arms”
    • Gets frustrated with Todd McShay

Take two drinks every time:

  • A player you have never heard of is drafted
  • A trade occurs
  • Jon Gruden claims that he “loves” a player
  • Jon Gruden’s face starts to turn red because he is so excited about a prospect
  • Jon Gruden raises his voice when animated and begins to yell in a high pitch voice
  • A selection is booed by the fans

Take three drinks every time:

  • The words “Johnny Manziel‘s future in Cleveland” are said
  • You cannot pronounce the name of the most recent player drafted
  • Chris Berman starts sweating (you only have to do this once)

Bottoms up every time:

  • A player from a school you have never heard of is drafted
  • The name Tim Tebow is mentioned, despite him not being relevant in the NFL since 2012
