It seems now as if the New York Jets and St. Louis Rams are looking to take the No. 2 spot occupied by the Titans

Heading into Thursday night and the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, much of the talk is surrounding whether or not the Tennessee Titans will trade out of the No. 2 spot. So far, all of that talk has surrounded the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles, however there are apparently two other teams that wanted to join the party.

According to new reports on Thursday, the St. Louis Rams and New York Jets have also been having some discussions with the Titans about taking over that No. 2 spot.

With the belief now that the Buccaneers will certainly be taking Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick, it looks as if the sweepstakes to get Marcus Mariota is growing as we get to crunch time here.

However, in regards to the Rams, you really have to ask yourself if Mariota is who they want. Having just traded for Nick Foles, is the motive to get the Heisman winner, or is he trying to make a splash with taking another player, like maybe an Amari Cooper to help out on the offensive side of the ball?

As far as the Jets go, you can safely assume that they’re calling the Titans because they’d like to see if Mariota can fit their rebuilding efforts. As much as they might deny it, Geno Smith isn’t seen as the definitive answer in the Big Apple, so making the splash with the selection of Mariota could smooth things over with the fans, at least.

Either way, the drama surrounding that No. 2 pick is growing by the minute as we approach Thursday night.
