Alex Rodriguez hits home run No. 660, ties Willie Mays (Video)

Alex Rodriguez made some history on Friday against the Red Sox when he hit home run No. 660, tying him with Willie Mays
Everyone knew that the moment would eventually come, and on Friday in Boston it did. Alex Rodriguez tied himself with Willie Mays on the all-time home run list as he hit No. 660 of his career.
The historic home run came off of Junichi Tazawa in the eighth inning of the contest and it also broke a 2-2 tie. The blast that Alex Rodriguez puts him with Mays now at No. 4 on the all-time home run list.
Now with this out of the way, the backlash can certainly begin. As you would expect, given the circumstances, there are a lot of disgruntled people out there that Rodriguez will forever have his name tied to Mays, one of the most beloved figures in the history of the game.
Also, it’ll be interesting to see how the Yankees handle this. As we’ve known for quite some time now, the team is refusing to pay his milestone bonuses, a point of contention between A-Rod and the team since he returned this season.
Rodriguez is in the beginning of his first full season back with the Yankees after serving a year-long suspension in 2014 for PED use.
