The first round of the NFL Draft is in the books with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota making history as two Heisman Trophy winners were the top two picks for the first time in NFL history.

But just because the first round is over doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of attractive candidates in the second round that can help your favorite NFL team close the gap on the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks and compete for a chance to get to the Super Bowl.

Countless players drafted in the second round have made it to the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl and Hall of Fame so just because a player didn’t hear his name called in the first 32 picks, all hope is not lost, and in fact middle round picks are just as important when fielding a 53-man roster. As great as it is to get a premier player in the early part of the draft, you build playoff teams with great picks in the middle.

And for the fans watching at home or following along online, the second round should provide some good theater in the form of trades after there were only two trades in the first round. I think we’ll see double-digit moves made on Friday night. The second round already started with the New York Giants trading up with the Tennessee Titans for the top pick.

You can follow along with the second round of the draft with our live tracker that will be updated after each pick is announced.  Who do you think is the best player still on the board at the beginning of the second round? Who do you want your favorite team to draft today?
