The Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs squared off in a thrilling Game 7 match up, one that perhaps made sports fans forget there was a marquee boxing match later tonight.
It was a back and forth game between the two teams, but a late shot from Chris Paul appeared to be the dagger in the game.
After the game, Clippers point guard Chris Paul and Spurs power forward Tim Duncan embraced for a touching moment. Paul specifically seemed to be emotional during the embrace and was even more so during the post-game interview when asked about it.
You can watch the whole thing below:
You have to wonder what words of wisdom Duncan gave Paul during that moment. Undoubtedly it was some advice and encouragement as Paul chases after his first NBA Championship with the Clippers.
After Duncan and the Spurs defeated the LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals in 2007, he had a special message for the young star.
For those who don’t understand how far back their relationship goers, check out this picture. It shows a 13 year old Paul with Duncan at the AAU Nationals.
