DraftKings Pitcher Picks – May 2
Welcome back for the best place to get your DraftKings pitcher draftees. My hot streak with SP picks continues as all four Friday picks were productive for daily fantasy lineups: Matt Harvey ($12000, 21.8 FP/1.81 FP per $1K), Ian Kennedy ($8200, 21.9 FP/ 2.67 FP per $1K), Jose Quintana ($7200, 18.95 FP/2.63 FP per $1K) and Chris Heston ($5600, 18.65 FP/3.33 FP per $1K).
Below are my picks for Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. Since there are both early and late contests, I will give you two pitcher recommendations for both slates. Good Luck!
Early
Jake Arrieta (CHC) home vs. MIL for $9100: Arrieta is in mid-season form with a 3-1 record and a 2.03 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 25 Ks in 26 2/3 IP during four 2015 starts. He has 23.8 FPPG and is facing the 5-18 Brewers and Mike Fiers (0-3, 5.79 ERA) at home for the 13-8 Cubs, who are an overwhelming -185 favorite. Ignore that this is a Wrigley day game with a forecasted 9 mph wind blowing out. This is a no-brainer pick.

Winter is Coming
Francisco Liriano (PIT) at STL for $9000: The Pirate lefty has been great this year, scoring 23.1 FPPG in four starts with a 2.22 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 30 Ks in 24 1/3 IP. Additionally, he has been dominant against the Cardinals in 8 career starts with a 4-1 record. 1.98 ERA, .164 OBA and 45 Ks in 50 IP, including 2-0 in Busch Stadium. Lastly, the Pirates only are a slight underdog against their division rivals in St. Louis and are facing John Lackey (1-1, 4.21 ERA), who has given up 8 ER in his last 12 2/3 IP. Liriano could easily give you over 20 points… plug him in.
Late
Chris Archer (TAM) at BAL (in Tampa) for $8200: The young Tampa star is absolutely on fire as he has not allowed an ER in 26 2/3 and is averaging 27.4 FPPG. Archer is 3-2 in five starts with a 0.84 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 37 Ks in 32 1/3 IP. He leads the Rays (-145 favorite) against the 10-11 Orioles at Tropicana Field even though it technically will be a “home” game for Baltimore, who are 4-6 away from home this year. Ride Archer until this hot streak ends, especially at the bargain price of $8,200.

Brandon Morrow (SD) home vs. COL for $6900: Brandon Morrow (SD) home vs. COL for $6900: Morrow has been good this year (1-0 with a 2.67 ERA and 17.5 FPPG) with three quality starts in four outings, with the other in Coors Field. He faces the Rockies’ Jorge De la Rosa, who is an enigma because he is more effective in Colorado than on the road, with a 30-45 record and 4.70 ERA in 95 career starts away from home. Morrow, however, will take advantage of being in Petco Park, where he has only given up 3 ER in 21 IP with 16 Ks.
